Sqimple allows you to add and edit your products quickly and easily, all in the one easy-to-locate spot. This page will explain how to create a new product. For instructions on enabling and publishing your product click here.

Note: If you have a large quantity of products to create, or need to edit a large quantity of products consider importing changes and products in bulk. Click here to find out how.

Create your Product

To create a new product follow these simple steps: 

1. Navigate to your Inventory (Hint: Click the rubix cube icon), from here click the Products menu item showing on the left hand side of your screen. 
2. Click the blue Add button. 
3. From here you can add all product information. Add content to the following fields. Don’t worry, if you are missing some of this information, or the field is not applicable to your product. You can edit your product later or leave the field blank. All fields marked with an asterisk must be entered in order for your new product to save successfully.
   • Name*
   • Product Type* – Product type options must be created before a product is added, click here to find out how
   • Kind of Product* (Simple, Variable & Virtual)
   • SKU*
   • Stock Level 
   • Price*
   • Taxable (GST)*
   • Base Cost (Ex GST)*
   • Short Description 
   • Long Description 
   • Categories – Category options must be created before a product is added, click here to find out how
   • Advanced Settings:
     • Sort Order 
     • Re-Order Stock Amount 
     • Weight 
     • Length (MM)
     • Width (MM)
     • Height (MM)
     • Brand – Brand options must be created before a product is added, click here to find out how
     • Redirect to cart on add  
4. Once complete press save. If you would like to add variations or media to your products, see the instructions below.

Add Media to Your Product

If you would like to add media files, such as images or video’s, follow the instructions below:

1. Navigate to the Media tab within your product. 
2. Select the blue Choose File(s) button. This will navigate you to Media Manager. 
3. From this menu you can select from existing images. Simply click on the image, ensuring a green tick appears on the image and press Use Selected button. 
4. If you have not uploaded your required media files, simply click the Upload button and drop the files into the Media Catchment or choose the Browse option to select media files from your local drive. Then press the blue Use Selected button. 
5. Once selected you will return to the media tab of your product view, from here you can rearrange the images by clicking and dragging each file into position.
6. Now select the default image by clicking the Pin icon on the preferred image,
7. If required you can also select or change the variable related product your image is attached to. For more information on managing your media click here.  

Create Variations Within a Variable Product

If your product has been created as a Variable Product Kind (not applicable to a Simple or Virtual product) you will be able to add variants to your product (e.g. size and colours or patterns)

1. Navigate to the Variants tab of your product (Note: Variable options must be created before a product is added, click here to find out how).
2. From this tab click the blue Configure Variations button. 
3. A menu will now appear. Select the applicable variables from the list and press Save. 
4. A list of Variants will now automatically generate.  To adjust these variants simply click the More Options button (Hint: Three Dots) and select Edit. You can now update the following:
   • Image 
   • Price 
   • Cost Price 
   • Barcode 
   • SKU 
   • Locations
5. Once updated click save. 
6. Should you wish to update the media so that each variant has individualised files, navigate back to the Media tab and re-distribute your media into the newly created variant categories. 
7. Your product is now ready to be added to your website if required.

Enable and Publish Products 

If you are satisfied with your new product and would like it to appear in your website shop, you will need to enable the products website view.

1. Navigate to your Inventory and again into Products. 
2. Select and open the product you wish to enable. 
3. Once into the product view, click the three dots on the top right hand side of your product screen for More Options.
4. Select Enable on Shop. This action will create a templated product page (can be found under Website Pages) and a url (e.g. siteaddress.com/example-product)
5. Navigate to your Website Settings (Hint: top menu), from here click the Pages menu item showing on the left hand side of your screen and then Product Pages. 
6. Find the product you wish to enable on your shop and notice the orange tag reading ‘Disable on Shop’. 
7. Open this product page and click the three dots on the top right hand side of your product screen for More Options.
8. Select the option to Publish. 
9. Once the product is enabled and the product page is published it will appear on your website shop, and can be accessed through the newly created url. To view the product on your website simply click the url now showing in the information panels of both the product view and the website page view. Alternatively navigate to your website and search for the product.
